This issue is close to my heart because often, these crimes are viciously underreported, leaving vigilantes feeling that extrajudicial action is the only viable recourse. Yet, instead of being hailed for their bravery, these vigilant heroes are condemned, labeled as barbaric, and ostracized by society. It’s time for a change, one that recognizes and protects these Samaritans instead of vilifying them. Vigilantes who step in to defend the vulnerable and oppressed are forced to grapple with the stigma of being called criminals, despite acting in the absence of timely legal interventions.
